OVW TV #916: "Rocco's Retribution"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, March 8, 2017. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 10PM, and online on Monday at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, Big Jon talks about his upcoming cage match with Rocco Bellagio at the April 1 SNS, Team Next Level defends the OVW Southern Tag Team Titles against Billy O & Kevin Giza, Rev. Stuart Miles defends his newly won OVW TV Title against Colton Cage, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

Big Zo defeats Houdini. Zo controls most of this match and picks up the victory after a slam and Zo bomb for the 3.

Little Damion defeats Maniac Mike Manson. Damion picks up the win after hitting eat de-feet and a flying headbutt for the 3.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 10PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.

Gilbert Corsey & Ron Hed are on commentary, and Ron is the ring announcer.

OVW SOUTHERN TAG TEAM TITLES: Billy O & Kevin Giza defeat "Team Next Level": "The Complete Athlete" Devin Driscoll & "Shotgun" Tony Gunn (c). Giza gets squashed to begin the match, but is finally able to make a hot tag to Billy after hitting an enziguri to Driscoll. Billy fires away on Gunn and hits a high knee in the corner. Driscoll comes back in and they double team Billy. Driscoll runs off the ropes and clotheslines Billy, who is being held by Gunn. He goes to do it again, but is tripped by Giza and pulled out of the ring. Billy breaks free from Gunn and hits the fameasser. Giza tags in and connects with the 450 splash to get the 3!

Big Jon is out for an in-ring interview with Gilbert Corsey. Gilbert says the bad news is Jon is no longer assistant GM, but the good news is that it's because he's been reinstated and won the Nightmare Rumble. Jon says it feels good, but is asked about his steel cage match with Rocco Bellagio. Jon says it will be tough. The cage is 15 feet high, and the steel can puncture you. He is ready to take down Rocco with the help of all the fans at the April 1 SNS and end his streak as OVW Heavyweight Champion! As Jon finishes the interview, he poses in the corner. Rocco runs out from the back and hits Jon from behind, then delivers a Plunge. Rocco says he thought he had gotten rid of Jon.
He has made his life miserable for the last month, and at the April 1 SNS, he will take Jon out for good, and there is nothing Dean Hill can do about it!

OVW TELEVISION TITLE: "The Pastor of Disaster" Rev. Stuart Miles (c) defeats Colton Cage. A back and forth contest that sees Cage hit a side effect, but miss a super kick. Stu delivers the claw slam for the 3.

David Lee Lorenze III is interviewed at ringside. Gilbert Corsey mispronounces his name, and David says he is not going to waste everyone's time by redoing his entrance, he will find a good edit point. He says his opening weekend at the Nightmare Rumble was a success, because he had a sell out crowd. He says he is here to compete for the grandest prize. Gilbert asks if he means an Oscar, and David says to wait and see.

"The Bad Boys Club": "Bad Boy" Shane Andrews & "The Double R Superstar" Randy Royal (w/Jessie Belle) defeat Adam Slade & Chase Destiny. This was pretty much a squash as they dominate Chase, then finish Slade off with a samoan drop from Royal and frog splash from Shane for the 3.
After the match, they say there are new tag team champions, but not for long. They are coming after them March 18 in E-Town, and tell Kevin Giza & Billy O to shine them up real nice!

Madi Maxx defeats Maria James in a quick back and forth battle after catching her with a kick and a twisting neckbreaker for the 3.

Adam Revolver comes out and explains why he got involved in the battle between Tyler Matrix & Shannon the Dude at last weekend's SNS. He says Shannon is a real man and proved it after he came out to count the 3 for him and Tyler was left laying on his back. Matrix comes out with a steel chair and Adam high-tails it out of the ring.

"The Young Lion" Tyler Matrix defeats Ca$h Flo (w/Josh Ashcraft) by DQ. Ca$h dominates early with his power and chops, as well as interference from Josh. Tyler starts to come back, nailing Ca$h with a kick to the head. He goes up for the swanton, but is distracted by Josh on the apron. Ca$h slams him off the top rope. Big Zo comes out and gets in Josh's face. Josh shoves him, and Zo decks him, knocking him out. He throws Josh over his shoulder and carries him out of the arena. With Ca$h distracted by that, Tyler is back to his feet and takes Ca$h down again with a kick. He goes up top again, only for Adam Revolver to come back out and shove him off the top rope for the DQ.
After the match, Revolver goes to hit Tyler with a chair. Tyler ducks and hits the pele kick. He grabs the chair as Adam begs him not to hit him in the corner. Ca$h is back up, and attacks Tyler from behind. Ca$h & Adam double team Tyler, when Hy Zaya comes out.
Hy goes after Revolver & Ca$h! Hy takes both men down and clears the ring. Tyler gets up confused, as Hy sticks out his hand. Tyler shakes and they hold their arms up to end the show.

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

Callie defeats Jessie Belle after rolling through a Belle Buster for the 3.

LJ & Justin Smooth defeat Dapper Dan & Jade Dawson after LJ dives out on Dan and they fight on the outside, while Smooth catches Jade in the ring with Street Justice for the 3.

As always, thanks for reading!
