OVW TV #915: "Flag on the Play"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, March 1, 2017. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 10PM, and online on Monday at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, Rocco Bellagio faces Diamond, we hear from Shannon the Dude about his match with Tyler Matrix, we hear from Dapper Dan, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

Apollo defeats Dre Blitz. Apollo gets the 3 after a full nelson slam. Apollo says he is glad to be back. He says he was here before most of the fans were even born, but he will be in the Nightmare Rumble.

"Shotgun" Tony Gunn defeats Dustin Jackson after hitting the reverse DDT for the 3.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 10PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.

Gilbert Corsey, Ron Hed, Shannon the Dude are on commentary, and Ron is the ring announcer.

Rocco Bellagio comes out and says he wants Big Jon fired. He is ready to go to Dean Hill's office and see that it happens right now.
Big Jon comes out with Justin Smooth. Rocco says Jon is going to be gone, and he is going to break Smooth's leg. Smooth says he is taking the title and kicking Rocco's face in. Jon says he can feel the tension and lets Rocco know since he likes to be the main event, he will face Diamond tonight. He then says Smooth will be the special referee!

Ca$h Flo & "The King of Hairstyle" Robbie Walker (w/Josh Ashcraft) defeat Big Zo & "The Pastor of Disaster" Rev. Stuart Miles. Walker & Stu hit each other with a double clothesline. Stu goes to tag Zo, but Ca$h has snuck around the ring and pulled him off the apron. As they fight on the outside, Walker grabs his hairspray and sprays Stu in the eyes before hitting him with a Comb Over for the 3.

Dapper Dan is interviewed about his new attitude since dismantling the Circus. Dan talks about burning it to the ground and how he is going to the Nightmare Rumble to win. He is interrupted by LJ who says he will not be used as a stepping stone and wants another chance against Dan...
Dapper Dan defeats LJLJ gets in a little offense and looks like he might steal one, but Dan catches him with the Death Valley Driver for the 3.

Shannon the Dude gets in the ring and says that Tyler Matrix is a coward and that's why he got himself suspended. He says on his radio show that he was talking about their upcoming match and he got a call from the KBWA. They will not allow him to compete since he is only an announcer, so unfortunately his match against Matrix is cancelled. Dean Hill comes out laughing. He says he got a call also. He asked what the difference was between being licensed as an announcer and as a wrestler. It all comes down to a physical which could take time, but he got it all set up for him right here, right now.
He calls out a nurse who checks Shannon out and signs off that he can compete at the SNS.

LOSER ENTERS NIGHTMARE RUMBLE AT #1: Colton Cage defeats Jade Dawson. Jade tries to cheat with pinfall attempts with his feet on the ropes or holding tights. Cage is able to catch him with his finisher for 3, meaning Jade has to enter #1 at the SNS.

SPECIAL REFEREE JUSTIN SMOOTH: "Wrestling's Rockstar" Diamond defeats "The Show Stealer" Rocco BellagioA decent back and forth match. Diamond gets Rocco locked in the Whammy Bar for the second time, but Rocco hits Smooth in the eye as he frantically grabs for the rope. Rocco kicks Diamond low to break loose. He grabs a sledgehammer and nails Diamond in the head. He gets Smooth to turn around and count the 3. Big Jon comes out with a referee shirt, whistling, and throws a red flag at Rocco. He grabs a camera and shows Smooth what happened. Smooth reverses the decision and Diamond wins by DQ.
Rocco is upset and hits Smooth in the leg from behind with the sledgehammer. Big Jon gets in the ring and big boots Rocco. Rocco looks like he wants to hit Jon with the sledgehammer and Jon is daring him. Dean Hill comes out to stop it. Rocco is furious and tells Dean he wants Jon reinstated. Dean says we are not messing up the SNS card this close to the show. Smooth worked hard to become #1 contender and will get his shot against Rocco then. As for Jon, he is Dean's assistant GM, but he tells Rocco to be careful what he wishes for!

This ended the TV taping.
