OVW TV #895: "Show Steele-er"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, October 12, 2016. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 10PM, and online on Monday at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, Mad Man Pondo looks for revenge against Dapper Dan Van Zandt, we hear from the acting commissioner and OVW TV Champion Trevor Steele, Rev. Stu wants to talk to Adam Revolver, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

"The Pastor of Disaster" Rev. Stu Miles defeats Carlos Gabriel. Stu does some healing, hits the flapjack, and makes Carlos tap to the cross arm submission.

Scarlet (w/Little Damion) defeats Maddie Max. Scarlet hits a pretty cool belly-to-belly suplex into a contorted pin for the 3.

Dapper Dan Van Zandt comes out with Ringmaster and says his family is finally reunited and before he buries Mad Man Pondo tonight, who will be brave enough to come out and enter the ring with his family?

"The Van Zandt Family Circus": Ringmaster & Little Damion (w/Scarlet & Dapper Dan Van Zandt) defeats "The 50/50 Boys": Lucas Jacobs & Kevin Giza. As the referee is distracted with Dapper Dan, Ringmaster spews green mist into Giza's eyes, and Damion hits a flying headbutt for the 3.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 10PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.

Gilbert Corsey, Shannon the Dude, & Ron Hed are on commentary, and Ron is the ring announcer.

Justin Smooth defeats "The Prince of Angst" Jade DawsonJade with some quick offense early, but Smooth catches him with Street Justice for the 3.

Gilbert Corsey brings out Trevor Steele. Steele says he has some business to take care of. First, he brings out Randy Royal and tells him that due to the circumstances surrounding his win last week, he is revoking Royal's title shot.
He will be in a match later tonight against Tony Gunn, and if he loses, he's fired. Steele then says that he is eliminating the age-old rule that the TV Title has to be defended every week. Tyler Matrix comes out and wants his rematch.
Steele says he isn't going to do that. He does put Matrix in a match for the chance at #1 contender to the OVW Heavyweight Title. However, if he loses, he will be fired. And his match is with the immovable object...the 400-lb. Big Zo!

Ca$h Flo defeats Max Silver. Flo hits some hard chops and puts Silver away with the faceplant.

Rev. Stu Miles is out and wants to talk to Adam Revolver. He says he wants to know what is going on and return to being Tag Buddies. Adam says that Stu went after the Heavyweight Title after winning War Games, and then went to Germany to preach leaving him behind. Adam says that's okay, he's a big boy, he can handle it. As far as their team goes, the Tag Buddies are dead. He tells Stu to stay out of his business. Stu grabs at Adam, and Adam shoves him down. He tells Stu that is his only warning.

"Shotgun" Tony Gunn defeats "Double R Superstar" Randy Royal. Gunn rolls Royal up with his feet on the ropes, but like last week, Royal plants a chain in Gunn's tights. Referee AJ Lucio reverses the decision, but Trevor Steele comes out and says this match won't end this way. He says to restart it as a no-DQ match. Royal is able to roll up Gunn for a 3, but Steele says this match needs to be restarted again, because he forgot to mention this was a submission match. Gunn gets Royal locked in the YTO. Royal never taps, but Steele tells Lucio to ring the bell, saying Royal tapped.

HARDCORE MATCH: Dapper Dan Van Zandt defeats Mad Man Pondo.
The rest of the Circus comes out to help. Pondo is able to put Ringmaster & Damion through plywood, but Dapper Dan hits him with a belly-to-belly suplex, and a death valley driver on a ladder. Ringmaster & Damion get back up and set up a piece of plywood across 2 chairs, with a garbage can and chair on top of the plywood. Dapper Dan suplexes Pondo off the top rope through the contraption for the 3.

"The Young Lion" Tyler Matrix defeats Big Zo (w/Josh Ashcraft). Josh distracts the ref at one point when Matrix looked to have victory. Later, Houdini & Big Jon come out. Houdini distracts the ref while Big Zo is perched for a Zo Bomb. Zo is distracted by Jon, and Matrix comes up from behind and super kicks him off the ropes. Matrix goes up and hits the swanton bomb for the 3. Trevor Steele comes out and pokes his finger in Matrix's chest and in Jon's chest. Jon gets in his face, and Steele goes to hit him with the TV title. Jon ducks, and chokeslams Steele to end the show!

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

OVW WOMEN'S TITLE: "The Most Hated Woman in Wrestling" Maria James (c) defeats Callie & Jamie Lynne in a triple threat after hitting Callie with a mic check for the 3.

OVW TV Champion & Commissioner Trevor Steele defeats Houdini (w/Big Jon). Jon is coaching Houdini on the outside, and Steele has referee AJ Lucio throw Jon out from ringside. Steele puts Houdini away with a torture rack slam for the 3.

As always, thanks for reading!
