This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, October 5, 2016. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 10PM, and online on Monday at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, we hear from Randy Royal about his future, Ringmaster faces Mad Man Pondo and one of them has to leave the Circus, Trevor Steele makes an announcement regarding the TV Title, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

Justin Smooth defeats Colton Cage. Cage with quick offense early, but Smooth slides out of a side effect and later avoids the scissors kick. He then catches Cage with Street Justice for the 3.

"Shotgun" Tony Gunn defeats Max SilverGunn focuses on the legs and gets the tapout via the YTO. He adds Silver to the YTO Club as "Crumpet Stuffer".

"The Legacy of Brutality": Big Zo & "Hood Ninja" Hy Zaya (w/Josh Ashcraft) defeats "The Prince of Angst" Jade Dawson & Lucas Jacobs. Jade looked less than thrilled either being in this match or being teamed with Jacobs. This was pretty much a squash for the L.O.B. Zo hits a huge slam on Jacobs, and it's followed up by a Ninja Vanish from Hy for the 3. After the match, Jade gets angry and leaves, and the L.O.B. continue to beat up Jacobs, who gets a huge powerbomb from Zo.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 10PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.

Gilbert Corsey, Shannon the Dude, & Ron Hed are on commentary, and Ron is the ring announcer.

CARNIVAL of CHAOS HARDCORE MATCH (LOSER LEAVES the CIRCUS): Mad Man Pondo defeats Ringmaster.
This match sees green mist, chairs (that get bent over on a suplex from Pondo to Ringmaster), garbage cans, a kendo stick, a golf club, and a ladder, and it's the stop sign of Pondo that gets cracked across Ringmaster's skull for the 3.
After the match, the Circus comes out to celebrate, but turn on Pondo! Dapper Dan delivers a belly-to-belly suplex and a german suplex to Pondo, then helps Ringmaster up. He gives him the stop sign, and Ringmaster hits Pondo in the head in return.

Gilbert Corsey brings out Trevor Steele for an inaugural address. Steele says he doesn't like what happened at the Saturday Night Special during the OVW TV Title Match.
Robbie Walker & Torey Payne come out. Walker has the OVW Rule Book and says that since Steele was disqualified, his elimination should be null and void, and he should be #1 contender. Steele says that he should first man up and talk to him, but secondly, if he is proposing a title shot, he's out of his mind unless he is willing to put something up that is important like a relationship. Walker says there is no way he is putting his hair up. Steele says not his hair, his managerial relationship with Torey. Steele will be special referee to ensure the law.

Mexicutioner defeats Carlos Gabriel. This match was a squash with Mex yelling for Adam Revolver the entire time. Mex puts Carlos away with the Mexislam for the 3.
After the match, Adam attacks Mex from behind and goes after the bad knee. Adam grabs a chair and brings it in the ring, but Rev. Stu Miles is back and gets between Adam & Mex. Stu says if Adam is going to use the chair, he has to hit him first. Adam throws down the chair and leaves.

Randy Royal is brought out and he is holding his wrestling boots. He said it's been a long road, but that time comes when you don't know when it's time to say you are done. He says he has accomplished a lot. He says you can look it up, he has beaten Randy Orton & Dave Batista. He has been OVW Southern Tag Team Champion, and the TV Champion multiple times. He never got the big one. Before he can finish, Rocco Bellagio interrupts and asks if he is talking about his title. He tells Royal to hurry up and finish. Royal says before he was rudely interrupted, he was about to hang it up and leave. Now he wants a shot at Rocco and the title. Rocco laughs and says Royal hasn't won a match in 4 months. Royal has no friends, no partner, no manager. He is a fighting champion, though, and tells Royal they can have a non-title match tonight. If Royal wins, he gets a title shot anytime, anywhere. If he loses, he wants him to hand over his boots and walk out of here. Royal tells him that a smart man once told him that it's not the biggest guy or the smartest guy you have to worry about. It's the guy that has nothing to lose. He was about to leave, but now he wants that title. He accepts the challenge.

OVW TELEVISION TITLE: Tyler Matrix (c) defeats "The King of Hairstyle" Robbie Walker (w/Torey Payne). A very quick-paced match. These two have excellent chemistry in the ring. Matrix catches Walker in the corner with a super kick as Walker is hung up, and then hits the swanton bomb for the 3, meaning Torey can no longer manage Walker and Matrix remains champion...
that is until after the match, when special referee Trevor Steele takes off the referee jersey and attacks Matrix from behind. He calls for a ref, and delivers his finisher to Matrix and gets the 3 to become NEW OVW TV CHAMPION!

Rocco Bellagio defeats "Double R Superstar" Randy Royal. Even though the fans were behind Royal, Royal still uses some old tricks.
Royal uses a chain and powder to try to overtake Rocco, but can't finish him off. Rocco hits Royal with the Plunge for the 3, but Royal plants a chain that hangs out of the back of Rocco's tights. Referee Joe Wheeler sees it and assumes Rocco used it, so he reverses the decision and now Royal has a title shot anytime, anywhere!

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

Ca$h Flo defeats Billy O after some nasty chops and the swinging faceplant.

Maria James defeats Kelly Bay after a reverse faceplant.

"The Van Zandt Family Circus": Dapper Dan Van Zandt & Little Damion (w/Scarlet) defeats Houdini & Big Jon. Jon & Houdini hit Damion with a double chokeslam, but as the ref is getting Jon out of the ring, Dan cracks Houdini from behind with a chair allowing Damion to get the pin.

As always, thanks for reading!
