OVW TV #845: "Literally Blind-sided"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, October 28, 2015. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 10PM, and online on Monday at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, Randy Royal faces Ryan Howe in a rematch for #1 contender, Mitch Huff defends the OVW TV Title against Devin Driscoll, Chris Silvio wants to be booked for Brews & Bruises, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

OVW Southern Tag Team Champions "The Van Zandt Family Circus": Dapper Dan Van Zandt & the Ringmaster defeat Rump Thump & "The Party Starter" Bud Dwight. Dwight was on fire and tagged Rump. Dwight went up top, but got knocked off by Ringmaster. Rump got in to hit the Thump on Dan, but Ringmaster grabbed his foot. Dan hits Rump with the death valley driver, and Ringmaster hits the flying elbow off the middle of the ropes for the 3.

Jessie Belle (w/"Bad Boy" Shane Andrews) defeats Rebel after Shane distracts Rebel. Jessie then rakes Rebel's eyes as the ref is getting Shane off the apron, and rolls her up to get the 3.
After the match, Shane grabs a mic and says they are a match made in Heaven. Jessie says the only problem is Heaven doesn't want them and Hell knows they would take over.

"Bad Boy" Shane Andrews (w/Jessie Belle) defeats "The Ladies' Man" Leon Shelly after Jessie pushes Leon off the top rope, and Shane connects with a frog splash for the 3.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 10PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.

Gilbert Corsey, Stephan Johnson, & Ron Hed are on commentary, and Shannon the Dude is the ring announcer.

"Primetime" Robbie Walker defeats Tyler Matrix after hitting Cross Roads.

Shannon the Dude starts yelling at Stephan Johnson to get out of his seat. He came to do commentary, not just be a ring announcer. He says he has big radio shows, and people like Michael Titus, Timmy Danger, Terry Boddie, and others have tried filling in at the announce table, but couldn't cut it. Whose butt does he have to kiss around here? Gilbert Corsey doesn't understand what has gotten into Shannon, and Shannon walks out.

Gilbert Corsey brings out Dean Hill. Dean says Chris Silvio better meet him tomorrow at 10AM sharp if he likes his job, and then talks about the awry finish to last week's #1 contender's match. He says referee David Banyon is either an idiot or blind. Tonight, there will be a rematch between Ryan Howe & Randy Royal.
He then says the next tag team for Brews & Bruises will be the Wild Boyz with Bud Dwight and the returning Eddie Diamond.
The next femme fatale he can show us better than he can tell us...Lucy Blossom! Lucy says she is ready to drink a Poffo Pilsner and become OVW Women's Champion!
As Dean starts to leave, Big Jon makes his way out. He wants Erick Locker and says he will not leave the ring. Dean says he has enough to deal with right now, but promises that Jon will get Locker next week in a no holds barred match.

OVW TELEVISION TITLE: Devin Driscoll defeats "The Chosen One" Mitch Huff (c) after Driscoll low blows Huff with a foot below the belt and hits the Cutter.

#1 Contender's Match: "Wrestling's Rockstar" Ryan Howe defeats "Double R Superstar" Randy Royal (w/Jessie Belle). Referee AJ gets squashed by a cross body from Howe off the ropes. Dave Banyon tries to come out, but is stopped by Chris Sharpe. Banyon tries to attack, but Sharpe hits him with a rock bottom. Royal tries to hit the Royal Treatment, but Howe reverses into the Whammy Bar to make Royal tap.
After the match, Howe is walking toward the back when Royal comes back out with something in his hand and throws it in Howe's face. It appears to be some sort of hot liquid or acid, as he blinds Howe with it.

Chris Silvio comes out and wonders why he is the OVW Heavyweight Champion and he hasn't been booked yet for Brews & Bruises. Michael Hayes returns and says he is probably the last person Silvio expected to see, but he is back and was the last person to defeat Silvio. He wants to challenge him for Brews & Bruises. Silvio is beside himself and says he does not accept.

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

Erick Locker defeats Ram Jam after hitting the T-Bone Suplex.

Rocco Bellagio defeats Rev. Stu Miles after hitting the Rocco Bottom.
He tried to attack Stu some more after the match, but "Tag Buddy" Adam Revolver came out for the save.

As always, thanks for reading!

  1. What's going on with Shannon the Dude? And why the rematch between Randy and Ryan? Had the situation been reversed, I doubt that there would be a rematch. Didn't Dean say that his referees had power? I think Dean is losing control of "his" OVW.

  4. I am disappointed in OVW for bringing Michael Hayes back. After the way he and his mommy bashed the organization he should have never been allowed to return. Oh well, I could go on with my rant but I need to check the TV listings and see what else comes on at 11 on Saturday mornings. I guess I can save a few bucks since I won't be returning to any more shows.

    1. I think the quality of OVW has slipped considerably since Danny left. Even if Danny didn't like a wrestler, he was fair with them. He didn't use his power to help the guys he liked, while trying to screw the ones he didn't. You wouldn't hear comments like "Deans OVW" and "Deans Law" from Danny. He knew OVW belonged to the fans. I won't even mention the brown-nosing between him and Gilbert. As far as I'm concerned, He badmouthing both Chris Silvio and Randy Royal, two talented wrestlers who both still have fans in OVW. RIP OVW; Dean has killed you.
