OVW TV #839: "Danger in Danger"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, September 16, 2015. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 10PM, and online on Monday at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, Randy Royal defends the OVW Television Title, Josh Ashcraft talks about the War Machine, Devin Driscoll faces Robbie Walker, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

"The Leg Breaker" Rocco Bellagio defeats Dre Blitz after a powerslam and a Rocco Bottom.

Dapper Dan Van Zandt (w/The Ringmaster & Scarlet) defeats Rump Thump.
Dan makes Scarlet sit in a chair at ringside. Rump sets up for the Thump, but gets distracted with Ringmaster on the apron. He knocks him off, and goes to hit the next person on the apron, but it's Scarlet. He holds his punch, but Dan catches him with a death valley driver for the 3.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 10PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.

Gilbert Corsey & Timmy Danger are on commentary, and Shannon the Dude is the ring announcer.

Chris Silvio comes out with Rocco Bellagio and Silvio talks about getting no respect. He says Devin Driscoll is getting a shot at his title after winning 3 matches, and then talks about Timmy Danger making a cute comment on commentary last week where Silvio couldn't hear him and then Danger walking off. He says he made a big mistake by getting Danger into the wrestling business and tells him to get in the ring. Danger says he is just calling the matches. Silvio again says to get in the ring and Danger tells him to shut up and comes to the ring.
He says Silvio did help him and he stood by him even when they didn't see eye to eye, but his best friend Eddie Diamond has always been there by him, even if they aren't making mixtapes anymore. Danger slaps Silvio in the face, but Rocco grabs him, and Silvio hits Danger in the head repeatedly with the mic. He then grabs a chair and Rocco holds Danger down with Danger's arm wrapped in the chair.
Silvio goes up top and stomps Danger's arm in the chair as Devin Driscoll runs out to run Silvio & Rocco off.

OVW TELEVISION TITLE: "The Ladies' Man" Leon Shelly vs. "Double R Superstar" Randy Royal (c) (w/Jessie Belle).
Leon is on a roll as Scarlet comes to ringside to watch him. Leon charges Royal in the corner, and Royal flips him to the outside. Leon lands in Jessie Belle's arms, and Scarlet gets mad and gets in Jessie Belle's face. Jessie Belle & Scarlet start fighting and roll into the ring. Leon is trying to break them apart, and Royal capitalizes by kicking Leon and hitting the Royal Treatment for the 3.
After the match, Dapper Dan Van Zandt & the Ringmaster come out and beat up on Leon some more as Dan yells at Scarlet.

Eric Locker defeats Wes Connors after hitting several various suplexes to the point that Wes is knocked out and the ref calls for the bell.

Adam Revolver comes out and says this isn't fair and he is not teaming with Stu Miles and his book of fairy tales. Stu comes out and says Adam is in a bad mood. He says that Adam needs an "Amen", a "Hallelujah", a "Glory", but gets interrupted by their opponents...
#1 CONTENDER'S MATCH for the OVW SOUTHERN TAG TEAM TITLES: "The Band of Brothers": General Pope & Private Anthony defeat Rev. Stu Miles & Adam Revolver.
Pope sits at the announce table. Stu tries to hit Anthony several times to no effect and wears himself out. Revolver grabs a chair and brings it in, but Stu says that's not how he is fighting. He is fighting like a man, and if he goes down, he goes down like a man. He ends up getting slammed hard by Anthony and squashed in the corner. Pope returns to his corner and slaps Anthony's face to tag himself in. Anthony & Pope hit a combo slam/DDT for the 3 and the win.

Josh Ashcraft comes out and talks to Gilbert Corsey. He says that Big Jon & Eric Locker were nothing before him and were nothing with him. He says that he has always been the core of the War Machine, and together with Trevor Steele, will go on as the War Machine. Gilbert says it's funny he should say that, because the paperwork listing him as part of the War Machine put him in a match for next week. Josh tries to backtrack and say he's just a manager, but Gilbert says the match is already signed and he can show him better than he can tell him about his opponent...and out comes Big Jon!
Jon says he only has one thing to say...is there still a stretcher nearby?

"Bad Boy" Shane Andrews (w/Jessie Belle) defeats Tyler Matrix after Matrix misses a flying body press and Shane connects with the frog splash.
After the match, Jessie Belle says the Bad Boy does it again. Shane takes the mic and proposes to her. He says they will have their wedding at the Saturday Night Special. Ryan Howe pops on the screen, but there is an audio problem. Gilbert says Howe said he will be at their wedding and that he will also show up before that to give them a little wedding gift, which angers Jessie & Shane.

Devin Driscoll defeats Robbie Walker after hitting the cutter in a good back and forth match.
After the match, Chris Silvio & Rocco Bellagio come out to attack, but Driscoll fends them off and dumps Silvio out to Rocco on the outside, standing tall to end the show.

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

"Ultra Violent" Chris Silvio defeats Adam Wylde.
This was an incredible performance for the live crowd from both of these talented superstars. There were several aerial offense moves from Wylde, but he went to the well too many times, and Silvio caught him with a rocket punch off the top rope to get the 3.
After the match, Rocco Bellagio came out and handed Silvio the title. He said he will take care of Bud Dwight at SNS, and Silvio will take care of Devin Driscoll and walk out still OVW Heavyweight Champion.

As always, thanks for reading!

  1. I'm confused about Danger's connection to Diamond. Is this an old angle? I only know TD to be a heel. 838 was great, I can't wait to see 839!
