OVW TV #837: "New Meaning to Death Match"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, September 2, 2015. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 10PM, and online on Monday at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, Mitch Huff reveals his tag team partner for the Saturday Night Special, Chris Silvio brawls with Eddie Diamond in the parking lot, Randy Royal defends the OVW TV Title against Devin Driscoll, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

Jade Dawson defeats Dre Blitz.
Blitz with a clothesline and big hip toss, but Jade comes back with a clothesline, hurricanrana, kick to the gut, and the neckbreaker to get the 3.

"Bad Boy" Shane Andrews defeats Tyler Matrix.
No real offense for Matrix. Shane dominates most of the match and puts Matrix away with a brainbuster for the 3.

J. Best is out in a pimpin' red suit and tells the new ring girl Grace that he models young women and hands her a business card.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 10PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.

Shannon the Dude & Timmy Danger are on commentary, and Shannon is the ring announcer.

OVW TELEVISION TITLE: "The Double R Superstar" Randy Royal (c) (w/Jessie Belle) defeats Devin Driscoll.
Driscoll meets Royal on the outside and they brawl outside the ring. Back inside, Driscoll charges Royal in the corner, but Royal moves and Driscoll goes shoulder first into the ringpost. While Royal has the ref distracted, Jessie slaps Driscoll in the face. Driscoll comes back, though, hitting a big spinebuster. He connects with a spear, and then the cutter. Jessie Belle gets on the apron to distract the ref, and Shane Andrews comes out and throws powder into Driscoll's eyes. Royal low blows Driscoll and gets the 3 with his feet on the ropes.
After the match, Ryan Howe appears on screen and says that he can't be in the arena, the ring, or within 50 feet of Royal, but tells Royal to not forget his face. He says he will get revenge.

Backstage, Chris Silvio discusses Eddie Diamond and the upcoming Ultraviolent Death Match at Saturday Night Special.

"The Ladies' Man" Leon Shelly defeats The Ringmaster (w/Dapper Dan Van Zandt & Scarlet).
Leon controls early with clotheslines and arm drags. Dapper Dan hits Leon while Scarlet has the ref distracted. Ringmaster knees Leon in the corner and bulldogs him. Leon comes back with a clothesline and hits the flying body press off the top rope for the 3.
After the match, Dapper Dan goes after Leon, but Leon is able to knock him out of the ring. Scarlet crawls in, but Leon being the ladies' man he is, plants a big kiss on her.

Backstage, Adam Revolver tells Rev. Stu Miles that he wants him to tell Dean Hill to fix this, that he doesn't want to team with him, and Stu needs to give up his shot. Stu says he's not a fan of this either, but the rules were that they team up. He tells Adam that he can give up his shot, but Stu says he won't give up his.

OVW Southern Tag Team Champions "Wylde & Reckless": Adam Wylde & Robbie Walker defeat Adam Revolver & Rev. Stu Miles.
Revolver isn't faring too well, so he tags in Stu. Stu is taking a beating, and Revolver leaves the ring. Backstage, Dean Hill approaches him and asks what he is doing. Dean tells Revolver that he needs to go back out to the ring or he'll be blackballed from every title shot that he ever has coming. He has 2 choices, get back to the ring, and get out of the building. Revolver returns to the ring and Miles breaks out of a hold he was in with Robbie. Both men make tags. Wylde fires away on Revolver and goes up top, but Revolver pushes him off. He goes out and grabs a chair, but Stu takes it away from him. This allows Wylde to recover, and him & Robbie hit a double superkick to Revolver for the 3.

We see Eddie Diamond outside and he gets attacked by Chris Silvio from behind. They brawl and Eddie hits Silvio with some trash cans. Silvio kicks Eddie below the belt and throws him face first into the OVW trailer. Eddie is on the ground and we see car lights getting brighter and closer to Eddie. The camera feed goes awry and we then see Eddie not moving on the ground.

Mitch Huff comes out ready for battle.
Josh Ashcraft comes out with the War Machine and says that all 4 teams were supposed to compete tonight, but it looks like Mitch doesn't have a partner. He says they could do 2-on-1. Huff says they could do 2-on-1, but he did find a partner and points to the curtain. Josh is confused as his music plays again, but out comes Big Jon!
Big Jon & "The Chosen One" Mitch Huff defeat "The War Machine": Eric Locker & Trevor Steele (w/Josh Ashcraft).
Huff gets a tag to Jon who blows through Steele and Locker. Jon hits a big spinebuster to Locker, and then puts him away with a chokeslam for the 3.

Chris Silvio comes out and says we will never ever ever ever (plus several more evers) see Eddie Diamond again. He says Eddie had a little accident. Eddie's music hits and he comes out with his body wrapped. He brawls with Silvio, and they trade shots back and forth.
Silvio hits Eddie with a chair and sets up a wood board in the corner, but Eddie ends up spearing Silvio through it. They both get back up and continue fighting. Silvio rocket punches senior official Joe Wheeler, and Eddie hits referee Dave.
Dean Hill sends out some superstars (Wylde & Reckless, the Assassin, Tyler Matrix, & Rev. Stu Miles) to try and keep them apart.

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

Dapper Dan Van Zandt (w/the Ringmaster & Scarlet) defeats OVW Southern Tag Team Champion Robbie Walker.
A back and forth match. Dan controls early with his power advantage, but Robbie starts to rally. He hits a dropkick and a guillotine legdrop. He sets up for the superkick as Mitch Huff comes to ringside and grabs Robbie's title. The slight distraction makes Robbie miss the superkick, and Dan picks Robbie up and nails a Death Valley Driver for the 3.
After the match, Huff gets in the ring and hands the title to Robbie, but says it will be his Saturday.

This Saturday is the September edition of the Saturday Night Special! Already scheduled:
Chris Silvio defends the OVW Heavyweight Title against Eddie Diamond in an Ultraviolent Death Match
Wylde & Reckless defend the OVW Southern Tag Team Titles against The War Machine, Rev. Stu Miles & Adam Revolver, and Mitch Huff & Big Jon
Dapper Dan Van Zandt faces Leon Shelly
Plus much more!

As always, thanks for reading!
