OVW TV #822: "Pre-SYNN-ting Josh's Present"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, May 20, 2015. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 10PM, and online on Monday at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, Eddie Diamond defends the Heavyweight Title against a former OVW mainstay, Jim Cornette has a present for Josh Ashcraft, Adam Revolver defends the OVW Television Title, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

"Apostle" Jake Glasure (w/"Pastor of Disaster" Rev. Stuart Miles) defeated Dave-Lo. Dave came out firing, but Glasure catches him off the ropes and slams him. He hits a suplex and throws him into the corner. He charges, but Dave moves and kicks Glasure in the head. He hits a missile dropkick and goes off the ropes, but Glasure catches him again, throws him up and hits a side rock bottom type maneuver for the 3.

Elvis Pridemoore defeated Trevor Steele. Trevor hits and slings Elvis across the ring. He hits a big boot and gouges Elvis' face. He clotheslines him and hits a back elbow on Elvis in the corner. He goes after Elvis again, but Elvis moves, fires up, and hits a flying fist off the ropes. It stuns Trevor, so Elvis goes up to the second rope and hits a flying fist that takes Trevor down. Trevor rolls out and is going to leave, but is stopped by the Assassin, who rolls him back in. Trevor hits a big boot to Elvis, but misses a second, and is caught with a roundhouse kick. He rolls out again, but Assassin throws him back in. Trevor argues with Assassin as Elvis gets down on all fours behind him.
Assassin shoves Trevor over Elvis, and Elvis rolls him up for the 3.
"The Congregation": "Apostle" Jake Glasure & "Pastor of Disaster" Rev. Stuart Miles are back again with a good word. The good word is 'ungrateful'. Stu says the fans are ungrateful when he has tried to bless them, and the most ungrateful of all is Jade Dawson. He will not be allowed in their ring and is dead to them. Jade comes out and says he is tired of Stu popping off, and now has the fans on his side. Glasure attacks him from behind, and Jade gets double-teamed.
The Mexicutioner comes out and evens the odds and him & Jade run Stu & Jake off.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 10PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.

Dean Hill & Gilbert Corsey are on commentary, and Terry Boddie is the ring announcer.

Jim Cornette comes to ringside. He doesn't want to take up too much time, but he wants to let Josh Ashcraft know that he has a special present for him tonight, any time he wants to come out during the program.

Jessie Belle defeated Deonna Purrazzo by submission. Deonna had the early advantage, but Jessie came back and locked Deonna in a back lock submission for the tapout.

Josh Ashcraft comes to ringside with the War Machine. He made history by defeating Jim Cornette at the last Saturday Night Special, and he will make history again tonight by getting exactly what he wants. He says Cornette is stuck in the past, but the War Machine are the future of professional wrestling.

King Shane Williams (w/Jason Lee & Vic the Bruiser) defeats Adam Wylde. The match goes back and forth, but as Wylde starts to rally, Lee distracts the referee. Vic slides in the ring and grabs Wylde, hitting a sitout spinebuster. King Shane then hits the flying fistdrop for the 3.
After the match, Wylde gets triple-teamed. Vic lays in some vicious chops, hits a giant legdrop, and then King Shane with the help of Vic & Lee, hits a spike piledriver!

Leon Shelly is in the ring awaiting a TV Title match. Adam Revolver comes out with a cane. He says Ryan Howe won't be attacking him from behind anymore and won't be getting any rematch. He used his last one last week. He will still compete tonight.
OVW TELEVISION TITLE: Adam Revolver (c) defeats Leon Shelly. As soon as the ref turns to put Adam's title and cane out of the ring, Adam low blows Leon and covers him for the 3.
Jessie Belle comes to the ring and calls Adam Revolver a low-down, dirty snake. She says everyone saw what he did to poor Leon, and what he did to Ryan Howe last week, cheating and pulling Ryan's tights for the win. She says Ryan should get a rematch. Adam says he already said no rematch, and Ryan has to start over at the back of the line. He asks why Jessie Belle keeps getting involved. He says it has to be because she wants him. They can go to the back and have a good time. He grabs her, and Howe hobbles out and hits Adam. Adam rolls out and Howe grabs a mic.
He says he talked to Jim Cornette and got a last man standing match against Adam at the next Saturday Night Special!

OVW Southern Tag Team Champion Big Jon (w/Josh Ashcraft & Eric Locker) defeated Dre Blitz. This was a total squash as Jon annihilated Dre. He finished him off with the chokeslam for the 3.
After the match, Josh Ashcraft says patience is not a virtue.
He wants Jim Cornette to come on out and he wants what's his. Cornette is out and presents someone more sadistic, more vile, more manipulative...SYNN! Josh laughs Eric Locker & Big Jon asking if this is his present. Synn gets in the ring and launches a fireball at Josh that makes him fall to the mat scared. He retreats with the War Machine. Cornette says whoever cleans Josh's drawers are gonna know just how scared he was.
He says Synn managed a former OVW Champion in Leviathan before he was "guarding the galaxy", she managed the Disciples of Synn who were 5-time Southern Tag Team Champions, and says Josh won't know when or where she'll get him, it could be the ring, a parking lot, or his bedroom. Synn promises to chain him up and roast him like a pig!

A former OVW mainstay, "The Prince of Puerto Rico" Damian Adams, comes to the ring. Gilbert Corsey interviews him. Damian says it's good to be back in the world famous Davis Arena, and to be back in OVW! He then asks who he is kidding. He says this place is decrepit, and is full of fat, lazy losers. He says there is also a joke of a champion in Eddie Diamond. Eddie comes out and says if he has a problem with OVW or the fans, he needs to take it up with him. He also says if he has a problem with him being champion, they can settle that right now.
OVW HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE OPEN CHALLENGE: Eddie Diamond (c) defeated "The Prince of Puerto Rico" Damian Adams. Adams controls early, but EFD fires back. Adams reverses a throw in the corner and clotheslines EFD. Adams goes up top and partially misses a moonsault that grazes EFD. EFD locks in the Crossfire and Adams has to tap out.

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

Jessie Belle & "Wrestling's Rockstar" Ryan Howe defeated "The Prince of Puerto Rico" Damian Adams & Deonna Purrazzo. Howe got a hot tag to Jessie as Adams tagged Deonna. Jessie Belle hit a series of snap suplexes, but Adams broke up the pin. Howe knocks Adams out of the ring as Jessie locks Deonna in the back lock, but faceplants her for the 3.

As always, thanks for reading!

  3. Does anyone remember a team that was around in 2012. They would come in the ring after a wrestler was laid out and steal their boots.

    1. I think that was the short-lived team of J. Best & Stephon Smith as "Swag Nation".

  4. OVW is interested in women again... since when?!

Even still, slowly but surely, they'll have a division again, hopefully they will treat it better this time around and find themselves women who will commit to the company.
