OVW TV #818: "3 Down, 1 To Go"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, April 22, 2015. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 10PM, and online on Monday at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, Ryan Howe is set to defend the OVW Television Title, "King of Knoxville" Shane Williams faces Elvis Pridemoore, Eddie Diamond continues to try to fight through the Congregation for a Heavyweight Title shot, the War Machine go against Dave-Lo & Leon Shelly again, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

Eric Locker defeated Adam Wylde. Locker dominated most of the match and won with the German Suplex.

Trevor Steele vs. the Assassin fought again to a double countout. Both men charged each other and couldn't knock the other down. They fight to the outside and at ringside, and neither get back in before the 10 count.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 9AM and 10PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.

Dean Hill & Gilbert Corsey are on commentary, and Shannon the Dude is the ring announcer.

The Congregation comes to the ring, and Mohamad Ali Vaez says that Jade Dawson & Jake Glasure failed, and they cannot have that in the Congregation. They will now lash each other 15 times with a belt as punishment.
Before anything happens, Eddie Diamond comes out and asks why they follow Ali, and says he's a puppetmaster, calling him buttercup. He says he will go through Rev. Stuart Miles tonight and go after Mohamad Ali Vaez and the Heavyweight Title next week. EFD hits Jade & Jake, and goes to give a neckbreaker to Stu, but Ali hits him from behind. Ali then gives him a neckbreaker with the belt wrapped around his neck.

"The War Machine": Big Jon & Eric Locker (w/Josh Ashcraft) defeat Leon Shelly & Dave-Lo. The match is dominated by Locker & Jon, and Dave & Leon get a T-Bone Suplex and German Suplex for their troubles. After the match, Josh Ashcraft gets in the ring and has Big Jon help him slam Dave-Lo, and then has referee AJ count to 3.

Backstage, Eddie Diamond is being checked on by referee AJ and the Mexicutioner, and Eddie says he will fight tonight, he will go through Stu, and he will get Ali next week, where Ali will tap out!

"The King of Knoxville" Shane Williams (w/Vic the Bruiser & Jason Lee) defeated Elvis Pridemoore. Elvis came out firing away, but the numbers game catches up to him as Vic & Jason interfere and cause distractions. Shane hits a neckbreaker and the flying fist drop for the 3.
After the match, Elvis is triple teamed. Vic hits a flying legdrop across Elvis' neck, and Shane goes for a piledriver.
The Mexicutioner runs out with a shovel and chases Shane and company off.

OVW TELEVISION TITLE: "Wrestling's Rockstar" Ryan Howe (c) vs. Dre Blitz never gets underway. Adam Revolver attacks Howe while he is playing the guitar, and takes his knee out. He hits it against the barricade and rams him into the steel steps, saying he will take back his TV title.

Adam Wylde defeated "Rudo" Raul LaMotta. Raul controlled early, but Wylde came back with a spinning kick, spinning back elbow, and sunset flip for the 3. After the match, a frustrated Raul takes a chain out of his kneepad and attacks Wylde, choking him with it.

Mohamad Ali Vaez & the Congregation come to the ring for Eddie Diamond's next challenge. After Eddie comes to the ring, Stu says his stomach hurts. Ali says he never said which 3 members Eddie had to beat, as Eddie is attacked from behind by Glasure.
Eddie Diamond defeats Jake Glasure via submission to the Crossfire. Jake controlled a lot of the match with his size advantage and power, but again got caught in the Crossfire.
After the match, Eddie is attacked by Stu, Jade, & Ali. Ali hits a neckbreaker and double underhook DDT on Eddie as he stands tall over him again, before they meet up next week on OVW TV with the title on the line!

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

The Mexicutioner defeated Dapper Dan. A good back and forth match, but Mex catches Dan with the spear for the 3.

Next week, Eddie Diamond gets his opportunity to once again face Mohamad Ali Vaez for the OVW Heavyweight Title!

As always, thanks for reading!

  1. Going to keep reading your post and not attending any shows until the Ali/Messiah gimmick is stopped. It crosses the boundaries and I will not watch until its stopped

  2. I agree. I find it offensive and have also decided to boycott the shows.

  3. I think that the Ali gimmick is great , watch it as an outside perspective not the side of taking offensce to it . You can see how people are blinded by faith that they will follow a charleton minister and a self professed Messiah

  4. Plus once Ali loses the belt he can claim to have seen the light announce to the fan that he's sorry for what he said . He was decieved by the paster of disaster during his lowest point of his life on the bottle etc , the fans forgive him & he feuds w/ Stewie
