OVWmania Presents: OVW Top 20 (Ed. 46)

This is the OVW Top 20 for the week of April 2-8, 2013 exclusively on OVWmania. Each category features the champion followed by the top contenders. After last week's TV and the "Zero Dark 30" SNS, where have all the superstars fallen into place this week?

TOP 10 SINGLES

DOUG WILLIAMS
OVW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION
RECENTLY: Doug's "shoulder injury" caused his title match to abruptly end at SNS, and he was able to leave the arena with the gold and the last laugh.

#1) JAMIN OLIVENCIA
RECENTLY: Jamin will be hoping for another chance and a fair one at that, to meet Doug Williams one more time for the OVW Heavyweight Title.

#2) ROCKSTAR SPUD
OVW TELEVISION CHAMPION
RECENTLY: The TV Champ is like dynamite. He's small, powerful, and has a short fuse. Will he be able to successfully defend against Cliff Compton again this week?

#3) "THE WELSH COLOSSUS" ROB TERRY
RECENTLY: You can go 2-on-1, 3-on-1, 4-on-1, against "the Freak", but he will still dominate.

#4"SMOOTH" JOHNNY SPADE

RECENTLY: Spade gets the decisive victory in his feud with Moose & Jay Bradley, but it looks like this rivalry hasn't finished.

#5JAMES "MOOSE" THOMAS
RECENTLY: Moose got a pin over Spade last week in a tag match, but fell to him in the triple threat at SNS.

#6) "LONESOME" JAY BRADLEY
RECENTLY: Jay had gotten the better of Johnny Spade & Moose up until this past week when Jay lost a tag match on Wednesday and the triple threat at SNS.

#7) "MR. MULTIMEDIA" CLIFF COMPTON
RECENTLY: "Batman" didn't win back the TV Title, but will go 1-on-1 with "Robin" Spud once again this week to try and win it back.

#8) RUDY SWITCHBLADE
RECENTLY: Rudy picked up a tag team victory on his birthday and a big win over his former partner, Jessie Godderz, ending the Best Feud Ever.

#9) "THE DOUBLE R SUPERSTAR" RANDY ROYAL
RECENTLY: Royal continues to wait for another opportunity at the OVW TV Title.

TOP 5 TAG TEAMS

THE COALITION'S GENERALS: "The He-Man of Homeland Security" Jason Wayne & "The Red Baron of Ruthless Reconnaissance" Crimson
OVW SOUTHERN TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS
RECENTLY: One battle has been won, but the war continues on as the Coalition tries to take over OVW and eliminate all the "terrorists".

#1) THE MOBILE HOMERS: Adam Revolver & Ted "Manbeast" McNaler
RECENTLY: Ted & Adam helped Brittany get her revenge and will now look to get back in tag title contention.

#2THE MASCARA MAFIA: Espy & Paredyse
RECENTLY: Paredyse got doused in some of Momma's good BBQ sauce and will have to "lick" his wounds after suffering a defeat to Brittany Devore.

#3) "The Double R Superstar" Randy Royal & Tony Gunn
RECENTLY: They may not be an official team, but they joined forces again this week and came up with a tag win over the VIP Club.

#4) Sam Shaw & ???
RECENTLY: Shaw is determined with or without Alex Silva, to get both payback on the Coalition, and the OVW Southern Tag Team Titles back. Will he find someone else to partner with in the meantime?

TOP 5 FEMME FATALES

EPIPHANY
 OVW WOMEN'S CHAMPION
RECENTLY: Epiphany had a successful title defense over Taeler Hendrix and then looked on at SNS to find out who her next opponent would be.

#1) TRINA
RECENTLY: Trina made an impactful return to OVW by entering and winning a battle royal to instantly become #1 contender for Epiphany's Women's Title.

#2) BRITTANY DEVORE
RECENTLY: Brittany spooked Paredyse and then came out of SNS with a victory over him to give her instant credibility.

#3) HEIDI LOVELACE
RECENTLY: Heidi made a good showing at SNS, but couldn't outlast the returning Trina.

#4) JESSIE BELLE
RECENTLY: This Dixie chick is awaiting her opportunity to soar again in the Femme Fatale division.

MISSING THIS WEEK'S CUT:

-MISTER MARVELOUS
Racked up 2 wins this week and was just shy of making his Top 20 debut.

-TAELER HENDRIX
Taeler has let Ryan Howe & Dylan Bostic distract her from winning matches.

-DELTA SQUAD ALPHA & DELTA TEAM BRAVO
Although they had a good week, they won't be fighting the Generals over the tag titles.

-DYLAN BOSTIC
Dylan picked up a win, but it wasn't enough to hang on this week's rankings.

-THE BLOSSOMS
Haven't seen much action lately, but are always threats in the Femme Fatale division.

-JESSIE GODDERZ
Is the Best Feud Ever over? A loss to Rudy keeps Jessie from the rankings.

***Thanks to "Mr. SC" for his votes/contributions to this week's rankings.***

  1. I got to see Cliff Compton and Mike Mondo at ROH in NYC. They were awesome.
