OVW TV #695: "The Militia Strikes"

This is the OVW Report for the night of Wednesday, December 12, 2012. There were 2 weeks of episodes taped, but I will only post a report tonight on the first hour that will be released online tomorrow. I will write a report on the second hour tonight, but it will be released next Wednesday night. They will also tape 2 episodes next week, and they will be posted the following 2 Wednesday nights. They are taping in advance with the holidays approaching.

Tonight at the Davis Arena, Josette Bynum further explained her actions, the Best Team Ever was in action, Jamin Olivencia defended the OVW TV Title, OVW Women's Champion Taeler Hendrix was in action, we got an update from Randy Royal, and Crimson & Jason Wayne set out to take over OVW!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

Jeremiah Plunkett b. Eddie Diamond (w/Timmy Danger & X2C Ladies). Danger reminded everyone to vote on the "Suckah of the Year" through twitter @DuardoDiamond and @TimmyDanger, before saying Plunkett looked like a good candidate. Plunkett hammered Diamond down and tries to wear him out with a couple submissions. He hits Diamond with a couple headbutts. Diamond comes back with some forearms including a big one in the corner. He does his "E-F-D" chant and goes for a second forearm in the corner, but Plunkett puts his boot up. Diamond catches his foot, but when he throws it down, Plunkett catches him with the "Best Right in the Business" knockig him out for the pin. MY TAKE: Plunkett has found a winning formula with his big right.

"Marksman" Nick Dumeyer & Tony Gunn (w/Ralphie) b. The Bodyguy & Chase King. King & Bodyguy attacked Gunn & Dumeyer from behind and hammered them in the corner. They tried to throw Gunn & Dumeyer into each other, but Dumeyer ducked and Gunn leapfrogged over him. Dumeyer threw King out of the ring and Gunn put Bodyguy in the bearhug. He then flipped him over into a bridge for the pin. After the match, Gunn chased referee Josh Ashcraft around the ring, to the back, and back out around the ring again trying to put him in a bearhug, too. MY TAKE: Gunn & Dumeyer made quick work of the Bodyguy & King. Are they looking to try and get into tag team title contention?

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always suggest watching the show first before reading my full report. You can find the shows posted online late Thursday afternoons/evenings at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.

Elvis Pridemoore & Stephon J. Baxter III vs. The Best Team Ever: Rudy Switchblade & "Mr. Pec-Tacular" Jessie Godderz. BTE controls most of the match beating down Stephon. Jessie teases Stephon and taunts him to hit him causing Stephon to "Urkel" up and get a good shot in on Jessie, but Rudy comes in and takes him out. Rudy & Jessie tag in and out as they continue to wear down Stephon. Stephon finally makes the tag to Elvis who comes in and gets some shots in on both of them. He hits a flying forearm and goes for the pin, but it gets broken up. Stephon comes in, but gets thrown out of the ring. Jessie & Rudy hit their finisher on Elvis and Rudy puts Elvis' red hat on during the pin to add insult to injury. WINNERS: BTE by pinfall. After the match, BTE hits Stephon and Jessie tells Rudy to kick him low, but the Gutcheckers fly out to make the save. Shaw calls them out about attacking them last week. Rudy says he can't believe they were dumb enough to fall for it as Silva interrupts and says they respect people and wouldn't do that. Rudy says he is not good at it, because he interrupted him while he was talking. He's not sure how they do things in Canada, but in America, you let people finish talking. Jessie takes the mic and says they are awesome and they are done. MY TAKE: Rudy & Jessie want to try and play mind games to get the Gutcheckers out of their element. Will they succeed and reclaim the OVW Southern Tag Team Titles?

Josette Bynum's music hits and she walks in through the side door. She says that she has been getting lots of e-mails asking her "Josette, Josie, Lady Jojo...why don't you like Trash?" She said that he is not fit to be in charge. His shows are lackluster at best, and everything was much better when she was in charge. She says Flash agreed to help her out, because he wasn't given an opportunity to come back to OVW. She brings Flash in. He says that if you look at the OVW alumni page, he's not there. He says he's put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into OVW, and doesn't get any respect. Trash's music hits and he comes to the ring. He says Flash is jealous of his position of power as Director of Operations. He says he can't stand either one of them and calls security in to have them removed from the building. They aren't happy about being thrown out as they are pushed out the side door of the Davis Arena.

Taeler Hendrix vs. December. December reappears for the first time in a while with her cheerleader get-up. Taeler mocks December's cheerleading before locking up. Taeler controls most of the match, getting in a lot of shots. December tries to get back into it by delivering a couple blows, but Taeler quickly regains advantage and ends it with the Kiss Goodnight for the 1-2-3. WINNER: TAELER by pinfall. MY TAKE: The OVW Women's Champion is back on top of her game as she awaits her next challenge in Jessie Belle at the January SNS.

OVW TELEVISION TITLE: "VIP" Joe Rosa (w/Jose Del Barrio) vs. Jamin Olivencia [c]. Olivencia comes out on fire hitting his high octane moves. VIP catches him and hits a big spinebuster. Jamin comes back, catching VIP with an inverted atomic drop off the ropes and nails the Standing O DDT for the pin. WINNER: OLIVENCIA by pinfall. After the match, Cliff Compton runs out and attacks from behind with his TV Title and steals Jamin's as he leaves the ring. MY TAKE: Cliff gets the upperhand again. It looks like we are on a collision course to the next SNS to determine which man is the true OVW TV Champion.

Randy Royal makes his way out to cheers from the crowd with a paper in his hand. He talks about being in the ring a couple weeks ago with Gilbert Corsey and telling everyone his story about how he literally died just a few weeks prior and was able to fight back. He talks about the long road back and says he is not going to stall, the doctor gave him the okay to come back. He says he's going to be honest, he just started working out again at the gym this week and it's going to be a tough road. He said he's going to continue working hard though, and will be back for his first match at the SNS on January 5th!

"The He-Man of Homeland Security" Jason Wayne & "General" Crimson vs. James "Moose" Thomas & Ryan Howe. Moose starts off with Wayne and works over his arm. He tags in Howe who takes over an armbar, but Wayne takes advantage and tags in Crimson. Wayne & Crimson keep Howe on their side of the ring and he takes a lot of punishment. Wayne does his choking pushups on Howe's neck. Moose is antsy to get in. Howe finally makes the hot tag. Moose comes in and takes Wayne down with shoulder blocks. He goes for a pin, but Crimson breaks it up. Howe comes back in and all 4 are in the ring. Moose gets knocked to the outside, and Howe is surrounded by Crimson and Wayne. Moose rolls back in and throws Crimson out of the ring as Howe hits Wayne. Wayne woozily turns around into a Moose Kick for the pin. WINNERS: MOOSE & HOWE by pinfall.
After the match, the Platoon of Wayne & Crimson's Army gang up on Moose & Howe hitting them with a steel rod. Moose is handcuffed to the ropes. The bell rings several times as Crimson, the Wild Cards, Jason Wayne, Joe Coleman, & Jack Black continue to beat down Moose & Howe to end the show. MY TAKE: Crimson & Wayne continue to try and take out all their competition in their quest to take over OVW.

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

There were no dark matches after the show, because they taped the second hour for next week following intermission.

Don't forget to watch the episode online starting tomorrow. The next Superstar Spotlight will be on Taeler Hendrix and will be posted Friday. Also, my weekly Top 20 comes out every Monday night and next week's will be a special Christmas edition. As always, thanks for reading!

  1. Can you not post the other report when you've done it?

    1. Since I'm always reading the results & what happened on the show before I actually watch it, so there's no need to hold it back. :-)

    2. However, one more question... Can you name the members of "Crimson's Army", please? :)

    3. Sorry, I'm keeping to my schedule.

Crimson's Army consists of Crimson, Shiloh, & Raul. Doug Williams helped Crimson during the second taping, so I'm unsure if he joined, or if they struck a deal. We had no backstage segments shown to the live crowd. They kept things moving with 2 tapings.

    4. Thanks for letting me know.
Then, would you be so kind to at least e-mail it to me?! :)
      Please?!?

  2. Isn't Kid Kash part of the Crimson Army too? Or is he with Jason Wayne's Platoon?
