OVWmania Presents: OVW Top 20 (Ed. 25)

This is the OVW Top 20 for the week of October 23-29, 2012 exclusively on OVWmania. This will be the last Top 20 before the Saturday Night Special on November 3. Where do OVW's finest rank heading into the big show?

#1) CRIMSON (Last Week: #1)

CURRENT TITLES: OVW Heavyweight Champion

LAST MATCH: Lost to Rob Terry in a Fatal 4-Way also featuring Doug Williams & Johnny Spade.

*The world's biggest weasel had nowhere to run last week in a Fatal 4-Way, because he had 3 other men gunning for him. One of those men, Rob Terry, pinned him to get another shot at SNS. Will the night end as it did last week, or will the weasel escape still as champion?

#2) ROB TERRY (Last Week: #2)

LAST MATCH: Defeated Crimson in a Fatal 4-Way also featuring Doug Williams & Johnny Spade.

*The #1 Contender is looking to try and "pop" the weasel and regain the OVW Heavyweight Title once again. He proved last week that he can pin the champ, but can he do it at Saturday Night Special when the title is on the line?

#3) SAM SHAW (Last Week: #5)

LAST MATCH: Defeated Tony Gunn.

*One half of Team GutCheck has proven to be a stand-up guy in helping Johnny Spade, Rob Terry, and now Alex Silva. He continues to climb the ranks in OVW and will soon be looking for gold, but first looks to assist Silva against the Wild Cards.

#4) JASON WAYNE (Last Week: #3)

LAST MATCH: Defeated Espy at the October SNS.

*The battle lines have been drawn. It look like it will be "Wayne-bow" vs. Rainbow as Wayne and his "army" go to war with the Mascara Mafia. Wayne says Espy & Paredyse disgust him, but is there anything more disgusting than a sense of entitlement and blatant disrespect?
#5) CLIFF COMPTON (Last Week: #6)

CURRENT TITLES: OVW Television Champion

LAST MATCH: Lost to Alex Silva by DQ.

*Cliff's "chain-ge" in attitude led him to becoming an OVW Triple Crown winner, but if it weren't for the always dangerous Wild Cards, he might have handed the TV Title right back to Silva this past week. Nevertheless, he remains champion.

#6) ALEX SILVA (Last Week: #7)

LAST MATCH: Defeated Cliff Compton by DQ.

*Silva was so close to regaining the OVW Television Title, but thanks to the interference of Shiloh & Raul, it didn't happen. Silva will be looking to regain the gold, but with Sam Shaw will look to deal a bad hand to the Wild Cards first.

#7) "SMOOTH" JOHNNY SPADE (Last Week: #4)

LAST MATCH: Lost a Fatal 4-Way featuring Rob Terry, Crimson, & Doug Williams.

*Doug Williams has currently got the former champ sidetracked. Spade can't trust anybody and all he can think about is getting revenge on Doug for sticking a knife in his back at the previous SNS. Can the Smooth One put Williams behind him in order to refocus himself on the OVW Heavyweight Title?

#8) THE MOBILE HOMERS: Ted McNaler & Adam Revolver (Last Week: #8)

LAST MATCH: With Ryan Howe, defeated Raphael Constantine, Ace Hawkins, & Jeremiah Plunkett.

*OVW's "Brew Crew" is cooking on all cylinders and it's only a matter of time before they get another opportunity at the OVW Southern Tag Team Titles. They will be watching closely as the Best Team Ever makes their next title defense against Eddie Diamond & Dylan Bostic.

#9) HEIDI LOVELACE (Last Week: #9)

CURRENT TITLES: OVW Women's Champion

LAST MATCH: With Jessie Belle & the Blossoms, defeated Killa Kaila, Taeler Hendrix, Epiphany, & Josette Bynum.

*Heidi is starting to see a crowded view at the top with the addition of OVW Femme Fatales such as the Blossoms and Killa Kaila. Not to mention her upcoming battle with both Josette Bynum and Taeler Hendrix at SNS. Heidi will have to keep her momentum going in order to stay atop the Women's division.

#10) JAMES "MOOSE" THOMAS (Last Week: #14)

LAST MATCH: Defeated Stephon "Swag" Smith.

*Moose, one of OVW's big men, is a big challenge for anyone that stands in his way. He already has the fire to win, but is now carrying Michael Hayes' spirit into battle that makes him even more dangerous.

#11) THE WILD CARDS: Shiloh Jonze & "Mexican Dream" Raul LaMotta (Last Week: #12)

LAST MATCH: Defeated Rob Terry, Johnny Spade, Sam Shaw, & Alex Silva in an 8-man tag with Crimson & Doug Williams (10/17).

*Raul & Shiloh are always lurking around, but what's their problem with Alex Silva? Did Crimson put a "hit" out on him and they are following his lead? Whatever the case, they now have Sam Shaw to contend with as well.

#12) DOUG WILLIAMS (Last Week: #10)

LAST MATCH: Lost a Fatal 4-Way featuring Rob Terry, Crimson, & Johnny Spade.

*Williams learned this week that Crimson is good at asking for favors, but not good in returning them. He continues to look over his shoulder for Johnny Spade, a man he stabbed in the back doing a favor for Crimson.

#13) THE BEST TEAM EVER: Rudy Switchblade & Jessie Godderz (Last Week: #11)

CURRENT TITLES: OVW Southern Tag Team Champions

LAST MATCH: Lost to Dylan Bostic & Eddie Diamond.

*Rudy & Jessie still have the tag team titles, but no chemistry. Is "Mr. Pec-Tacular" too focused on his TNA Knockout girlfriend, Tara? Whatever the case may be, another loss knocks them down the Top 20 and gives a future title shot to the team that beat them last week.

#14) MASCARA MAFIA (Last Week: #16)

LAST MATCH: Espy lost to Jason Wayne at the October SNS.

*Espy & Paredyse have the "make-up" of an excellent team and will probably be in the tag team title hunt sooner than later. First, they must contend with the disrespectful Jason Wayne and his "army" of Jack Black & Joe Coleman.

#15) THE BLOSSOM TWINS: Hannah & Holly (Last Week: NR)

LAST MATCH: With Jessie Belle & Heidi Lovelace, defeated Epiphany, Taeler Hendrix, Josette Bynum, & Killa Kaila.

*Hannah & Holly are back and that means double the trouble for anyone in OVW's Femme Fatale division. They hope to use their twin magic to rise back up the ranks of OVW and eventually TNA.

#16) JOSETTE BYNUM (Last Week: #15)

LAST MATCH: With Taeler Hendrix, Epiphany, & Killa Kaila, lost to Heidi Lovelace, Jessie Belle, & the Blossoms.

*Josette has a lot going on. She wants to defeat Heidi to become an 8-time Women's Champion, she has her issues with Taeler Hendrix, and she is still assisting Trailer Park Trash who she wants taken out. Can she focus her energy on the gold at SNS?

#17) DYLAN BOSTIC & EDDIE DIAMOND (Last Week: NR)

LAST MATCH: Defeated the Best Team Ever.

*The newly formed duo of Bostic & Diamond pulled off what many would consider to be a big upset last week by defeating the current tag champions in a non-title contest. This pretty much guarantees them a future title shot. Can they win again when it counts?

#18) ELVIS PRIDEMOORE (Last Week: #19)

LAST MATCH: Defeated the Bodyguy.

*Elvis made quick work of the Bodyguy last week, but how would he fare against higher competition? That's the question that needs to be answered in order for Elvis to continue climbing the Top 20.
#19) JACK BLACK & JOE COLEMAN (Last Week: #18/NR)

LAST MATCH: Black defeated Tony Gunn (10/17).

*Back-up for Jason Wayne, Coleman & Black come in tied at #19 this week after an enemy attack on the Mascara Mafia. Are they ready to enter this war, or is there a reason Wayne put them on the front line?

#20) JESSIE BELLE (Last Week: NR)

LAST MATCH: With the Blossom Twins & Heidi Lovelace, defeated Josette Bynum, Taeler Hendrix, Killa Kaila, & Epiphany.

*The Southern Belle keeps the Women's division crowded with talented females. She will be very interested in the outcome of the OVW Women's Title Triple Threat Match at SNS as she looks to work her way back into the title picture.

MISSING THE CUT:
-Taeler Hendrix
*After spending the last few weeks hanging on at the bottom of the Top 20, Taeler falls off this week. A win at SNS would propel her back up quite a bit.

-Rocco Bellagio
*The big man from Jersey has been M.I.A. the last couple weeks and falls off due to inactivity.

-Ryan Howe
*Wrestling's rock star "fueled up" with the Mobile Homers last week and it shot him back on the winning track. More wins and he'll be back on the list soon enough.

KEEP AN EYE ON:
*Epiphany   *Tony Gunn   *Killa Kaila
*Jeremiah Plunkett   *Raphael Constantine   *Ace Hawkins

***Special Thanks to "Mr. SC" for his input/votes towards this week's list***

  1. Your work, as always is perfect, but this week I have to disagree. I know we have engaged in this dialog before; your rankings are for fun and one should never apply logic to wrestling. However, I am confused with your ranking of the former Femme Fatale champion. (Unless you have insider information, LOL!), Why do you have her off the list while she is a contender for the belt at SNS? Jesse B. has not been signed for the match. And her participation at the Wednesday events has been less than Taeler’s. I know that when OVW swapped the Femme Fatale belt at a “House Event,” it caused many fans to scratch their heads. Then after she was immediately cast into dark matches, the fans went from their heads to “WTF?!” Even the Fan Advocate has been evasive in answering inquiries about the sudden change.
Anyways, I am having fun with this one too! Thanks again for what you do us fans who don’t live in Louisville (or for that matter Kentucky) and have a friggen good time tonight! We are extremely grateful for your efforts and your work!
