OVWmania Presents: OVW Top 20 (Ed. 19)

This is the OVW Top 20 for the week of September 11-17, 2012 exclusively on OVWmania. After all the title changes this week, where do the OVW stars land on the list?

#1) CRIMSON (Last Week: #2)

CURRENT TITLES: OVW Heavyweight Champion

LAST MATCH: Defeated Johnny Spade to become the NEW OVW Heavyweight Champion.

*Crimson's "Wild Cards" trumped the Spade and he now reigns as OVW Heavyweight Champion. How long will it last, seeing as he meets Big Rob Terry at SNS on October 6?
#2) ROB TERRY (Last Week: #3)

LAST MATCH: Defeated Eddie Diamond.

*Big Rob finally got his OVW Heavyweight Title match and leaps over Spade in the rankings, but he probably wasn't expecting it to be against Crimson. What will happen with these 2 big men clash at SNS on October 6?

#3) "SMOOTH" JOHNNY SPADE (Last Week: #1)

LAST MATCH: Lost the OVW Heavyweight Title to Crimson.

*Spade didn't have the winning hand last week and it cost him to lose the OVW Heavyweight Title. Spade will be looking for a rematch, no doubt, but will definitely have "Wild Card" payback as a top priority.
#4) ALEX SILVA (Last Week: #4)

CURRENT TITLES: OVW Television Champion

LAST MATCH: Defeated Ryan Howe to become NEW OVW Television Champion.

*Silva continues to climb the ranks in OVW and makes a statement by becoming the new TV champion. You can bet that the Heavyweight Champion after SNS, whether it be Rob Terry or Crimson, will be saying "Uh-Oh!" when they look up to see Silva in their rearview mirror looking for his opportunity at the top prize.

#5) THE BEST TEAM EVER: Rudy Switchblade & Jessie Godderz (Last Week: #5)

CURRENT TITLES: OVW Southern Tag Team Champions

LAST MATCH: Lost to the Mobile Homers.

*The Best Team Ever is still "CHAMPIONS!" for now, but dissension is in the ranks. Rudy & Jessie will have to get on the same page or those titles could soon end up around the waists of one of the many hot tag teams in the division.

#6) MOOSE & MICHAEL HAYES (Last Week: #6)

LAST MATCH: Defeated Joe Coleman & Rocco Bellagio of Bolin Services 2.0.

*Moose & Michael remain hungry and energized for another opportunity at the OVW Southern Tag Team Titles. The question is whether they will get a shot before the Mobile Homers who defeated the tag champions, the Best Team Ever, last week.

#7) JASON WAYNE (Last Week: #9)

LAST MATCH: Defeated Randy Royal.

*A big man with an even bigger attitude, Wayne continues to demand respect from everyone in the locker room and loves to tell BS 2.0 about his war stories. Wayne continues to move up the ranks, though.

#8) CHRIS SILVIO (Last Week: #11)

LAST MATCH: Eliminated himself from the Nightmare Rumble at SNS.

*OVW's little big man continues to roll and keeps Cliff Compton on the move in the process. Will the Psychedelic Superstar finally prove he is the better man once and for all?

#9) HEIDI LOVELACE (Last Week: #15)

CURRENT TITLES: OVW Women's Champion

LAST MATCH: Defeated Taeler Hendrix for the OVW Women's Title at a live event in E-Town.

*Usually the Top 20 only counts Wednesday TV and Saturday Night Specials in its rankings, but a title win at a live event goes to prove that anything can happen at any time. Heidi now reigns as queen with the Women's Title in hand, and proves to be the (wo)man, you have to beat the (wo)man, and she did!

#10) TAELER HENDRIX (Last Week: #8)

LAST MATCH: Lost the OVW Women's Title to Heidi Lovelace.

*The shock heard around the Ohio Valley area as Taeler loses 10 pounds the hard way, by dropping the title to Heidi at a live event! If the fiery redhead wasn't happy before, what kind of mood must she be in now?

#11) THE MOBILE HOMERS: Ted McNaler & Adam Revolver (Last Week: #13)

LAST MATCH: Defeated the Best Team Ever (non-title match).

*The "rocket fuel" continues to rocket the Mobile Homers back up the Top 20 and after defeating the champs, Ted & Adam are now looking for their shot to take the titles away. However, Brittany DeVore plans to put them through some rigorous training first.

#12) ROCCO BELLAGIO (Last Week: #12)

LAST MATCH: With Joe Coleman, lost to the team of Moose & Michael Hayes.

*Rocco suffered a tag-team loss, but wasn't the one pinned. The big man from Jersey is hoping to continue climbing the ladder in OVW, and in turn will climb the Top 20.

#13) RYAN HOWE (Last Week: #10)

LAST MATCH: Lost the OVW Television Title to Alex Silva.

*Howe rocked in to OVW on a roll, winning the TV Title in the process. Ever since he became champion, he had been in a big slump and lost the title last week. Was the loss actually a blessing in disguise?

#14) JACK BLACK (Last Week: #14)

LAST MATCH: Defeated Johnny Spade.

*Jack Black's resume still shows a win over the former champ, Johnny Spade, but the big man has been inactive the last couple weeks. He'll need to be back in action to move up the Top 20.

#15) EPIPHANY (Last Week: #18)

LAST MATCH: Defeated "Bodyguy" Max Wolfgang.

*Epiphany may be the baddest woman in OVW, taking on all comers, male or female. What does she have planned next for the superstars of OVW?

#16) THE WILD CARDS: Shiloh Jonze & "Rudo" Raul LaMotta (Last Week: #19)

LAST MATCH: Both were eliminated from the Nightmare Rumble at SNS.

*Has Crimson became their mentor and improved their outlook? It sure seems that way, but they better be looking over their shoulder as Johnny Spade looks for retribution.

#17) CLIFF COMPTON (Last Week: #16)

LAST MATCH: Eliminated himself from the Nightmare Rumble at SNS.

*Cliff continues losing a battle of wits with Chris Silvio and it's costing him opportunities and spots on the Top 20. Will these two clash again and finally prove who the better man is?

#18) JOE COLEMAN (Last Week: #17)

LAST MATCH: With Rocco Bellagio, lost to the team of Moose & Michael Hayes.

*The Jacked Knight never lacks confidence, but it may have cost him last week when he was caught in a submission and forced to tap out. Can he regroup and do some victory laps this week?

#19) SAM SHAW (Last Week: NR)

LAST MATCH: Defeated Jeremiah Plunkett.

*One of TNA's GutCheck winners made a winning debut last week, and also debuts on this week's Top 20. After a solid win, the sky's the limit for Shaw.

#20) FABIANO ROLENTO (Last Week: NR)

LAST MATCH: Defeated Iwi #1.

*Ole! The Colombian superstar makes his Top 20 debut this week also, as he begins a winning streak of his own. As long as he is not distracted by any lovely mamacitas at ringside, Fabiano will continue to work his way up.

MISSING THE CUT:
-The Assassin
*The Assassin continues to leave his calling card in OVW.

-Tony Gunn
*Missing in action this week, so we have to wonder if Tony is going over a new game plan with Ralphie.

-Randy Royal
*Randy was also inactive, recovering from his arm injury. He has stated on twitter that he is looking for a tag partner to get in the OVW Southern Tag Title hunt as well.

KEEP AN EYE ON:
*Elvis Pridemoore
(The hillbilly from "Down South" will need to concentrate more on his in-ring work than his rapping.)
*Swag Nation
(Don't keep an eye on them just for their in-ring skills, but for their "drive-by shoeings".)
*Jeremiah Plunkett
(Made a good debut, but in a losing effort.)
*Brandon Espinosa
(Still needs to find the winning "makeup".)
*Jessie Belle
(The Southern belle was defeated after Taeler got a "leg up" on her competition.)

DISABLED/INACTIVE:
*Dylan Bostic     *Mohamad Ali Vaez     *Jamin Olivencia

***Special thanks to "Mr. SC" for his input/votes on this week's Top 20***

  1. Thanks for the rankings....What do you think, the Ladies Belt changing hands at a house show? Really? I would not call it a shock. May be a anticipated short surprise. Based on activity in twitter and FB, I think Taeler will soon be making her move over to TNA. Heidi is deserving of the belt and may be she too will also be ranked in PWI. Incidently, Taeler is still ranked for the 10th straight week in PWI.

    1. I think it's very much possible we will be seeing Taeler on iMPACT soon, especially with the releases of Velvet Sky, Winter, & Angelina Love. It is a surprise that they did the swap at a live event rather than a tv or SNS, but it had to be exciting for the crowd there.

  2. Concur...however based on what I have been reading I think Taeler will be on a short hiatus until November and will probably return with a vengeance and a more aggressive style, minus Mr. Bostic. Most likely, retaking the title.
