OVWmania Presents: OVW Top 20 (14th Edition)

This is the OVW Top 20 for the week of August 7-13, 2012 exclusively on OVWmania. After another clash between Johnny Spade & Jamin Olivencia, where do they rank as well as the rest of the best of the OVW roster?

#1) "SMOOTH" JOHNNY SPADE (Last Week: #1)

CURRENT TITLES: OVW Heavyweight Champion

LAST MATCH: Went to a time-limit draw with Jamin Olivencia.

*First, a controversial double pin at SNS. Last week, Spade went to a draw with Olivencia. Regardless, Spade is still the champ. That's why he is still #1, but will Jamin try to change that?

#1A) JAMIN OLIVENCIA (Last Week: #2)

LAST MATCH: Went to a time-limit draw with Johnny Spade.

*Jamin keeps coming up just short in his quest to defeat Johnny Spade and become OVW Heavyweight Champion. As close and competitive as their matches have been, that's why Jamin gets #1A on this week's Top 20.

#3) MOOSE & MICHAEL HAYES (Last Week: #3)

LAST MATCH: Defeated Raul LaMotta & Shiloh Jonze by DQ after interference from the Best Team Ever.

*The #1 contenders have something to prove after the Best Team Ever interfered in their match last week and left them lying. How will they respond this week?

#4) THE BEST TEAM EVER: Rudy Switchblade & Jessie Godderz (Last Week: #4)

CURRENT TITLES: OVW Southern Tag Team Champions

LAST MATCH: Defeated the Mobile Homers.

*The Best Team Ever have yet to solve how to defeat their challengers for the September SNS, Michael Hayes & Moose. Could Rudy & Jessie's interference in Moose & Michael's match last week show their lack of confidence in beating them cleanly?

#5) RYAN HOWE (Last Week: #11)

CURRENT TITLES: OVW Television Champion

LAST MATCH: Defeated Tony Gunn & Rob Terry to become NEW OVW TV Champion.

*Wrestling's only rock and roll superstar rocked his way up to #5 after becoming TV Champion. He was able to defeat 2 strong opponents in Gunn & Terry, too. Howe is "amped" up and ready to defend his title each and every Wednesday.
#6) CHRIS SILVIO (Last Week: #7)

LAST MATCH: Defeated Raphael Constantine.

*The Psychedelic Superstar continues his hot streak, but is his back hurting more than he is letting on? Silvio will need to watch his back, too, after delivering some payback to Cliff Compton last week.

#7) TAELER HENDRIX (Last Week: #9)

CURRENT TITLES: OVW Women's Champion

LAST MATCH: Ended in a draw against Epiphany, Jessie Belle, & Heidi Lovelace.

*Taeler keeps her hands tightly grasped on the OVW Women's Title, but her eyes seemed to wander away from Dylan Bostic and onto the new TV Champion, Ryan Howe. Does Taeler have something up her sleeve, or could the rocker become a distraction to her?

#8) ROB TERRY (Last Week: #5)

LAST MATCH: Lost to Ryan Howe in a triple threat TV Title match that also featured Tony Gunn.

*Big Rob remains a force in OVW, but his lack of definitive wins causes him to drop a few spots this week. Can he recover next week?

#9) ALEX SILVA (Last Week: #10)

LAST MATCH: Defeated Eddie Diamond.

*Uh-Oh! Silva continues to impress and move up the Top 20. OVWmania has also learned that the Lone Wolf will go 1-on-1 with the current OVW Heavyweight Champion, Johnny Spade at the September Derby Park Expo 5 show. That should be a PPV-quality matchup!

#10) MOHAMAD ALI VAEZ (Last Week: #8)

LAST MATCH: Lost the OVW Television Title to Tony Gunn.

*Where has the "8" time TV champion been? Is he getting ready for an eventual showdown with Big Rob? Unfortunately, the longer he remains inactive, the lower his standings will continue to be on the Top 20.

#11) TONY GUNN (Last Week: #6)

LAST MATCH: Lost the TV Title in a triple threat match to Ryan Howe that also involved Rob Terry.

*Tony's first official title defense didn't go as planned, and after losing the strap to the rocker, Ryan Howe, he takes a nosedive in this week's rankings.

#12) CLIFF COMPTON (Last Week: #12)

LAST MATCH: Lost to Chris Silvio in a 2-out-of-3 falls match at SNS.

*After losing to Chris Silvio at SNS and then being taken out by a chair last week, will Cliff be looking for some "psychedelic" payback this week?

#13) EPIPHANY (Last Week: #15)

LAST MATCH: Went to a draw with Taeler Hendrix, Jessie Belle, & Heidi Lovelace.

*Epiphany remains one of the "largest" threats to Taeler's Women's Title reign. Will she be able to once again become #1 contender?

#14) ROCCO BELLAGIO & JASON WAYNE (Last Week: #16)

LAST MATCH: With Joe Coleman, defeated the team of Elvis Pridemoore, Arik Kristopher, & Nick Dumeyer.

*BS 2.0's 2 angry big men were on the same page with their BS 2.0 partner Joe Coleman, and picked up a big win for the group this week, allowing them to move back up the Top 20.

#15) THE MOBILE HOMERS: Ted McNaler & Adam Revolver (Last Week: #13)

LAST MATCH: Lost to the Best Team Ever.

*Ted & Adam came back strong, but a couple losses knocked them down a few pegs this week. They are hoping that Moose & Michael defeat the Best Team Ever at the next SNS and give them the first shot at the OVW Southern Tag Team Titles.

#16) JOE COLEMAN & JACK BLACK (Last Week: #17)

LAST WEEK: Coleman, with Jason Wayne & Rocco Bellagio, defeated the team of Arik Kristopher, Elvis Pridemoore, & Nick Dumeyer.

*BS 2.0 had a much better week this week, and move up the rankings because of it. What do they have planned next in OVW?

#17) JESSIE BELLE (Last Week: NR)

LAST MATCH: Went to a draw with Heidi Lovelace, Taeler Hendrix, & Epiphany.

*After 2 losses in the same week to the current OVW Women's Champion, Taeler Hendrix, Jessie Belle must now work her way back up the ladder if she hopes to get another shot at the gold.

#18) SHILOH JONZE & "RUDO" RAUL LAMOTTA (Last Week: NR)

LAST MATCH: Lost to Moose & Michael Hayes after interference from the Best Team Ever.

*Despite being in no-mans land, this tag team has a lot of talent and potential to do big things in OVW's hot tag-team division. Something tells us that they aren't going to be pleased with the Best Team Ever's interference last week that cost them a chance to be #1 contenders.

#19) RANDY ROYAL (Last Week: #18)

LAST MATCH: Defeated Rocco Bellagio by DQ at SNS.

*The Double R Superstar was inactive this week, but the Top 20 wonders if the twitter war will continue with BS 2.0. If so, can Royal rely on Silva for back-up again?
#20) DYLAN BOSTIC (Last Week: #20)

LAST MATCH: With Taeler Hendrix, defeated Alex Silva & Jessie Belle.

*Bostic follows Taeler's commands, but seems to get no respect from her in return. After her eyes started wandering away to the new TV champion, Ryan Howe, Dylan will have to work to prove himself to her and climb farther up the Top 20.

MISSING THE CUT:
-Brandon Espinosa
*The Top 20's not sure if Espy went to watch Paredyse perform on Broadway or what, but a couple weeks of being M.I.A. costs him a spot on this week's rankings.

-The Assassin
*The big masked man continues to make life miserable for many of OVW's superstars, and could soon make his way up on the Top 20.

-Fabiano Rolento
*Fabiano loved being in the ring with mamacitas until they decided to gang up on him, making him lose out on making the Top 20.

KEEP AN EYE ON:
*Elvis Pridemoore      *Heidi Lovelace      *Nick Dumeyer

***Special thanks to Mr. SC for his input and votes toward the Top 20***

  1. Looks good and thanks for the postings. Unless you have insider information, why is Epiphany higher in your rankings that Jesse Belle? And you wonder if the Double R will continue his Twitter War? No doubt. That is why he is the Double R. Hopefully this week, you will be able to his talents in the ring.

    1. Well, Epiphany has won recently. Jessie Belle lost twice in the same week by pinfall to the Women's Champ, Taeler Hendrix.
