OVW TV #819: "Diamond Does It"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, April 29, 2015. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 10PM, and online on Monday at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, Ryan Howe defends the OVW Television Title against "Rudo" Raul LaMotta, Trailer Park Trash is set to face Leon Shelly, Eddie Diamond finds out something about tonight's title match from Mohamad Ali Vaez, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

Elvis Pridemoore defeated Dre Blitz. A quick back-and-forth match where Elvis gets the 3 after hitting Blitz with a jawbreaker.

Trevor Steele defeated Dave-Lo after making him submit to a head vice in a dominant performance.
After the match, he continued to pound on Dave until the Assassin came out. Trevor left the ring.

Leon Shelly defeated Dapper Dan. Dan used his size advantage to power over Leon early, but Leon came back with some dropkicks and hit a flying body press off the top rope to get the 3.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 10PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.

Dean Hill & Gilbert Corsey are on commentary, and Gilbert is the ring announcer.

OVW TELEVISION TITLE: "Wrestling's Rockstar" Ryan Howe (c) vs. "Rudo" Raul LaMotta gets thrown out after interference from Adam Revolver. During the match, Jessie Belle came out to cheer on Howe. Raul had the early advantage after hitting Howe's bad knee, but Howe fought back and went up top for the Chart Topper. When Adam came out and got in Jessie Belle's face, Howe went to the outside and fought with Adam. Howe was in control until Adam grabbed Jessie Belle.
Adam shoved her into Howe, and then took out Howe's knee. He hits it against the steel steps, and again says he will take back his TV title.

Leon Shelly is in the ring, and Trailer Park Trash's music hits. He comes out with Jim Cornette and Jim says he was gonna have a special tag match tonight with Trash & Danny Davis, but unfortunately, Danny couldn't be here due to a death in his family. Instead, Trash will face young Leon Shelly. The War Machine's music hits and they come out with Josh Ashcraft. Josh says how about Trash faces one of his War Machine, maybe Eric Locker, and since it's past Leon's bedtime, he can go on home. Jim Cornette says fine, but Big Jon will be banned from ringside, and Jim will be in Trash's corner to watch Josh.
Eric Locker (w/Josh Ashcraft) defeated Trailer Park Trash (w/Jim Cornette). Locker controlled early, but Trash started to chop and fire back. Both men run into and collide with each other. Josh gets on the apron, distracting the ref. Cornette runs around and pulls Josh off and chases him around the announce desk and to the back. Meanwhile, Locker has grabbed a foreign object and clocks Trash with it. The ref turns around to count the 3. Cornette comes back out and says things will be different at SNS, because all 6 men will be in the ring and that will make Josh Ashcraft the weakest link, goodbye!

The Congregation comes to the ring, and Mohamad Ali Vaez says that Eddie Diamond did defeat the Congregation, but tonight on his 400th episode of OVW TV, he will walk out still the OVW Heavyweight Champion.
Eddie comes to ringside and says how about they fight right now. Ali says he didn't pay close enough attention to the fine print. If he wants a title shot, he must defeat all 3 members of the Congregation in a row in a gauntlet match tonight.

Eddie Diamond defeats Jade Dawson via submission to the Crossfire, and is immediately attacked by Rev. Stuart Miles. Miles hits some "Be Healed!" slaps to Eddie, but Eddie comes back and quickly makes Stu tap to the Crossfire. He is then blindsided again by Jake Glasure.
Just like in previous weeks, Glasure used his power, but couldn't put Eddie away. Jake has Eddie up, but Eddie twists around and gets the Crossfire on him also for the submission. Ali sneaks in and hits the neckbreaker and says that the title match will happen NOW!
He goes to pin Eddie, but Eddie kicks out at 2! Ali goes for a DDT, but EFD reverses. Ali kicks out. Ali regains control and throws Eddie to the outside, where Eddie hits the barricade head first. Ali suplexes him over the ropes, back into the ring. He chokes EFD in the ropes. EFD pulls Ali's head down across the top rope. He goes up top, but Ali hits him and then hits a superplex. EFD kicks out at 2.
He throws him outside again, and then goes out and hits him against the side of the ring. EFD makes it back in before the 10 count. It looks like Ali is going for a piledriver or powerbomb, but EFD flips him over. EFD goes to grab him, but Ali pulls him out of the ring. He goes to hit EFD into the side of the ring again, but EFD reverses and throws Ali into the side of the ring. As they get back in, Ali regains control and kicks EFD's leg, bites him, and scratches his eyes. He locks in a sleeper, but EFD fights out and reverses into a sleeper of his own. Ali gets out, but EFD hits him with a running knee. Ali gets his foot on the ropes to break the 3 count. Ali tries to take the turnbuckle off. As referee Jordan Barker is fixing it, he gets squashed in the corner, and then EFD squashes him when Ali ducks a cross body. The Congregation is back out, but EFD disposes of all 3 of them. Ali is back up and hits the neckbreaker. Jordan is shaken back to life and counts to 2! EFD kicked out, and reverses into the Crossfire...Ali taps! We have a NEW OVW Heavyweight Champion!
After the match, several superstars come out and congratulate Eddie. Trailer Park Trash says from the first ever champion to the current one, he did a great job. Eddie takes the mic and thanks everyone for coming out each and every week, and he couldn't have done it without the fans. His old friend and manager, Timmy Danger, comes out and trips in the ropes as he enters to congratulate him which gets a good chuckle from the crowd.
During intermission, EFD is in the ring and Ali comes back out to try and attack him, but EFD catches him with a stunner.

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

Big Jon (w/Josh Ashcraft) defeated Adam Wylde. Jon dominated most of the match, and Josh told me at ringside to quote him that they would kill Danny Davis, Trailer Park Trash, & Jim Cornette. Wylde made a bit of a comeback and had Jon rolled up, but Josh distracted the ref. Wylde got up and grabbed Josh, but Jon came up from behind and hit a massive chokeslam for the 3.

Here's a preview flyer of NEXT Saturday's Saturday Night Special on May 9 (due to the Kentucky Derby this Saturday)!

As always, thanks for reading!
